PTFE-coated glass fibre
Besides plastic-coated polyester fabric, also PTFE-coated glass fabric is used for certain areas. Here, a comparable range of material types is available. PTFE-coated glass fabric is used whenever as extensive a self-cleaning material as possible is requested or a non-combustible material is specified by the building authorities.
The following table attempts to evaluate the different materials under different aspects; the table is designed to show comparative aspects (and should not be used solely for decision-making).

Composite materials from PVC-coated polyester fabric or glass PTFE clearly have been widely accepted in Textile Building. Due to the many variation possibilities in the fabric qualities and coatings, they represent an ideal material.
The applicable project-specific requirements, the available budget and the aesthetic and creative requests of the building owner in the end determine the selection of the material.
