Tensinet is a European project, established and financed by the European Commission.
The project is coordinated by the Free University of Brussels.
The consortium of Tensinet consists of 22 members who represent the 9 EC states.
The membership represent the complete range of Textile Construction (multidisciplinary from heavy weaving via coaters and fabricators to engineering and architectural offices) and universities and further specialized organisations which cover the subject of membrane construction.
Within the subject network, the members wish to make the complete know-how of the industry accessible. Tensinet collects, structures and analyzes the specific know-how of the different disciplines and integrates the collected know-how into a corresponding data base.
Institute for Membrane and Shell Technologies e.V.
The aim of the IMS – Institute for Membrane and Shell Technologies - was as it is still today to establish an independent research institute, where research and development, teaching new construction methods, especially related to membrane and net constructions, shell technologies, as well as energy-saving building, is the focal point.
With the nomination of Prof. Off to the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Dessau, Germany in 2003, the foundation for the cooperation between the Anhalt University and the IMS has been laid and the vision of an international study course “Membrane Structures” became reality.

10.0kt.2009 BKTex now is called Industrieverband Technische Textilien – Rollladen – Sonnenschutz e.V.
With mixed feelings, the member of Bundesverband Konfektion Technischer Textilien e.V. bid farewell to their association´s name in their general meeting on 10 October in Gelsenkirchen. The reason for the renaming was the idea of some company owners to bring together the whole industry of sun protection / roller shutter and shading systems manufacturers.
